Volumental is a pioneering tech company helping millions of people around the world solve one of the biggest headaches when it comes to choosing footwear: finding the perfect fit. Because in less than five seconds, our state-of-the-art 3D scanner and AI-powered Volumental Recommend product can offer customers personalized footwear recommendations that allow shoe shoppers to find the right pair - every time. Our solution is a crucial part of making footwear retail more efficient, personalized, and sustainable. Volumental's technology is currently live in more than 2000 stores across 40 countries, including New Balance, Bauer, Ecco and XXL. We are on a mission to help 500 million shoe shoppers find perfect fitting footwear by 2025, both in-store and online.

Data has a first-class position at Volumental. Therefore, we are currently building a new team dedicated to extracting insights from it and making it useful to every team across the company. And that’s where you come in!

What will you do?

  • Be the analytical team member that Sales, Customer Success, and Marketing colleagues can turn to for insights on the effectiveness of our awareness-building and revenue-generating activities. We want your data expertise to help us identify untapped growth opportunities, optimize our processes, and inform our decisions - now and into the future.
  • Tap into our vast data sources to understand how we provide value to our customers and users, creatively and curiously uncovering new insights and ways to improve our customer experience. We have a huge bank of ideas already, but we want you to bring new ideas to the table because we are huge believers in embracing the fresh perspectives of new colleagues joining us.
  • Model and forecast revenue and customers based on possible product mixes and customer segments.
  • Be the guardian that ensures marketing and sales data is clean and complete so other Volumental team members can tap into it effectively.
  • Passionately contribute to the data-driven Volumental initiative, our cross-functional effort to make our entire organization more data-driven. As a member of our commercial team we would love you to raise the bar on our team’s data knowledge, for example by holding workshops or trainings for the team (don’t worry - we are not expecting you to be an experienced teacher!)

We are excited about you because: 

  • You’re skilled at parsing many types of data in your work, whether performing quantitative database queries, collecting external market data, or incorporating qualitative data and expert opinions to form a holistic view.
  • You’re simultaneously a detail nerd and strategist, equipped with a unique ability to zoom in and focus on getting the details right and zoom out to see how the pieces impact the big picture.
  • You’re interested in retail and ecommerce and passionate about how it can be improved.
  • You’re a natural communicator, keenly aware that how you present your data insights to technical, business or creative colleagues is critical to informing decisions and achieving impact.
  • You’re a collaborative team member with low prestige, willing to jump in where needed.
  • You’re curious and open-minded just like everybody else at Volumental, and when somebody suggests a new approach, you’re eager to understand more and test, evaluate and iterate to see if it works.
  • You have experience with SQL, financial analysis and data visualization.
  • You’re fluent in English.

  • You have lived to tell the tale of a rapidly scaling startup
  • You've spent time in strategy consulting or performance marketing
  • In the past, you have built and evaluated predictive models
  • You’ve had experience supporting retail and/or e-commerce analytics and insights
  • You’ve worked with various analytics tools, including Mixpanel and Google Analytics.

Our recruitment process normally includes at least one opportunity for a face to face meeting, but in these times we have moved to virtual hiring and onboarding processes to respect social distancing. Should a candidate prefer to meet in person at the final stages of recruitment, we take all necessary precautions to ensure everyone’s safety.

Our entire company has been to a large degree working remotely during this period, and we are confident about maintaining a creative and efficient environment while away from the office! However, as we do hope to return to the office eventually, you will need to relocate to Stockholm for this role.
